Effective content literacy instruction and intervention is key to helping adolescents achieve success in their academic and personal lives. This course provides you, the secondary credential candidate, with theoretical and practical knowledge so you will learn how to assess studentsʼ reading and writing abilities and learn how to provide intervention in the areas where students exhibit a need. You will read a text that challenges you to think critically and deeply about the lives of struggling readers. You will learn how to use informal and formal literacy assessments and to plan lessons for effective student learning.
